The Latin American trade fairs FIT 0/16 and Pueri Expo, a satellite event of Kind + Jugend, start together this year for the third time. The trade fair duo already demonstrated high double-digit growth rates last year. The two trade fairs start from 7 to 10 June in the Expo Center Norte in São Paulo with the intention of inspiring visitors with current highlights and new products from children’s fashion and outfitting and of breaking new records.

More than 280 Brazilian and international brands for children’s fashion and baby/children’s outfitting are participating in the largest international trade fair of the industry in Latin America. For the first time, the exhibition space of Pueri Expo will be as large as that of the established FIT 0/16. This means that the area of Pueri Expo has once again tripled in comparison with the last edition. With 13,000 square metres of exhibition space, the trade fair is completely booked up. The status of pre-registrations of trade visitors also promises a new visitor record. More than 8,000 trade visitors from Brazil and abroad are expected at the event.

Top position in the children’s outfitting segment

As the largest and most traditional Latin American trade fair in its segment, the international trade fair for baby & children’s outfitting (FIT 0/16) has been presenting the current fashion and accessories trends for babies, children and teenagers to age 16 twice a year for more than 25 years. Pueri Expo, the concept of which is oriented to Kind + Jugend, provides the perfect complement with its focus on children’s outfitting.

Both trade fairs have been taking place parallel since 2016, and therefore cover the entire bandwidth of baby and children’s products. The joint presence proves to be a magnet for visitors and exhibitors: in 2017 the two trade fairs attracted 207 national and international exhibitors, and has demonstrated a plus of 50% over the previous year. The trade fair duo has thus already been able to establish itself as a constant in the children’s outfitting segment as of its second edition, and to further expand upon its top position in the Latin American market.

Children’s fashion and safety solutions for the digital age

The organisers of FIT 0/16 and Pueri Expo want to continue this success story this year. “The trade fair mix of children’s fashion, current baby and children’s outfitting, and for the first time this year also toys, which is unique in Latin America, is drawing the undivided attention of boutiques, the specialised trade and other buyer groups”, emphasises Denis Steker, Vice President International of Koelnmesse.

Exciting product presentations and fashion shows present the current market and industry trends. In addition to this, the event programme of the trade fairs provides an important platform for knowledge transfer and networking. With sales training and informative lectures, for example, on the promising use of digital sales channels and on perfect Facebook presences and customer experiences, the Trend Forum is clearly at the pulse of the times.

Are you planning an appearance at or visit to the Latin American trade fairs? What are your expectations for your business? We look forward to receiving your reports.
